Service Questions

Studies show that pets are more comfortable in their own environments around familiar sights and smells. Being taken care of in their own homes helps to alleviate the stress imposed when their owners are away. Pets are also able to maintain much of their normal routine, diet and medication schedule. This also eliminates the trauma of being transported and exposure to other animals that may be ill or have parasites.

No. We believe that pets do better in their own environment. This is why we have chosen not to have a boarding facility. We do offer overnight services and will make as many visits as you would like to your home.

Our clients can schedule their visits any time during the day between 7am and 9pm. We always say give/take an hour due to routing and dealing with animals/traffic.

Our Meet & Greet is our first visit with the client where we are introduced to their pets and they show us the ropes prior to the start of their service. During this visit the pet sitter will spend some quality time with the pet, pick up two sets of keys or the door/garage code, and answer any additional questions that the client might have.

No. The preferred method of scheduling is for the client to schedule their own services through our scheduling software or through the Time To Pet App. This way we can ensure that there are no missed visits. Any visits that do not get scheduled through the scheduling software or by contacting The Sitter of Pawz directly will not be covered by the business insurance should something go wrong.

We accept all major credit cards or PayPal payments through our scheduling software. You can also leave payment in cash or a check on the counter for us to find during our first visit. Venmo and Zelle are also accepted.

Yes. There is a $5 surcharge on each visit plus the standard charge for the services being provided on New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, Independence Day, Father’s Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

We know that things come up and are more than happy to schedule pet care for last minute needs. However, that is based on availability and we can not guarantee that we will not be booked.(although 95% of the time it is not a problem) We also only schedule service.

Life happens. The Sitter of Pawz does not charge for cancelations unless the client forgets to cancel. If the pet sitter shows up for a visit that is not needed and the client is home, the sitter will leave and the client will be charged full price.

Yes. The Sitter of Pawz is able to administer medication as instructed by the client. There are pet care specialists who are trained and experienced in administering oral medicine as well as insulin shots and sub-q fluids.

The client is contacted and made aware of our concerns. If the client would like for the pet to be seen by the veterinarian then we will transport the pet to the vet for treatment. If the client can not be reached The Sitter of Pawz management will make the decision if the veterinarian should see the pet. If necessary, we will take the pet in for treatment. In either case, you will be billed for the treatment and any extra time spent.

Yes. We are fully insured and bonded through The Business Insurers of the Carolinas. The Sitter of Pawz also runs extensive background checks on all of our pet sitters.

Yes. Along with being trained in pet first aid and CPR, The Sitter of Pawz has been recognized as a Certified Professional Pet Sitter® The CPPS distinction is a federally-trademarked certification mark PSI awards to professional pet sitters who successfully demonstrate their knowledge and skills by obtaining a passing score on the CPPS Exam and agreeing to adhere to PSI’s Recommended Quality Standards and Code of Conduct & Ethics.

Tips are not required but always appreciated and 100% of tips are given to the sitter(s)doing the visits.
